College of Humanities and Law

The College of Humanities and Law (CHL) started as the Politics Teaching and Research Group in 1958 and evolved into the College of Law and Politics in May, 2003. In June, 2019, the college received its current name. Currently, CHL offers three undergraduate programs in law, Intellectual Property, Chinese International Education and a professional master’s degree program in Chinese International Education. CHL has four research centers: namely, Research Center on Xi Jinping Legal Thoughts, International Promotion and Research Center on Technical Chinese and Light Industry Culture, Research Center on Intellectual Property, Research Center on Confucianism in Eastern Asia. CHL provides College Chinese, Law minor and general Chinese courses to oversees students and preparatory students. The college houses over 1000 students.

CHL has a strong faculty with good teaching and research experience. Most of them has professional qualifications besides their teaching qualification. Many Chinese International Education academics have taught overseas and worked at Confucius Institute.

CHL has a smart moot court, block chain IP training center, International Chinese Education virtual simulation lab, Mandarin and spoken Chinese drilling center, training center for traditional Chinese cultural skills, Micro-teaching training center.

CHL collaborates with Tianjin Bar Association and established The School of Lawyers to provide preparatory programs and training programs for future lawyers.

CHL is proudly partnering with Tianjin High People’s Court, Tianjin Third Intermediate People’s Court, Binhai Court, Tianjin Bar Association, Public Trust Legal Strategic Cooperation Alliance, Tianjin International Chinese College, Tianjin TEDA Experimental School, and more than 30 law firms etc.
